This old photo, which first appeared on LIFE magazine on December 27, 1948, shows a very fantastic invention --that is four-man bicycle invented by Art Rothschild.

Now what comes into your mind when you look at it? It somehow looks like a ferris wheel, right? If this unique bicycle exists, I'm sure, you would either be excited or be afraid to ride on it.
This four-man bicycle is powered by five chains and has brakes on both its wheels. The bike was built by Art Rothschild (top position) who broke three ribs while learning how to ride it.
